Our classroom is integrated with threes, fours and fives together. Children benefit from this by learning together and from each other.
Immanuel Lutheran Preschool and Childcare Center exists to share the good news that all people have a Savior in Jesus Christ. With respect to Preschool age children, it is our goal to help them grow in their understanding of how wonderful God has made them, help them understand the special gifts, talents, and opportunities God has given them, and most of all, to reaffirm the Gospel that they are loved by God and by others through Jesus Christ.
Our programs and curriculum are designed to assist children, ages three to five, in developing their physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual abilities so that they realize the full potential of the gifts and abilities God has given them. We believe that a loving and caring environment, where adults exemplify the sacrificial and patient love of God, is essential to achieving this end.
Our Preschool opened in the fall of 1995 and is licensed by the State of Iowa. In 2010 we received our first Quality Rating from the State of Iowa with 3 stars out of the 5 star system. In 2011 we received our first 4 star rating maintaining this quality as of June 2015 when we received our new 4 star rating good through June 2017.

She has CDA National credential in Child Development as well as a National Administrator Credential from National Child Care Association and Aim4Excellence Credential. All other staff are qualified with education and/or comparable experience for licensing requirements in the state of Iowa and are accredited in emergency CPR and First Aid.
Children must be 2 1/2 years old and turning 3 in the school year. Maximum age is 5 years old or kindergarten age. Children must be completely potty-trained. Classes are filled on a first-come basis. If classes are filled, the child’s name will be put on a waiting list.
We use Creative Curriculum for our room set-up, lesson plans, and progress reports.
Creative Curriculum is a curriculum based in theories and research from the early child field – the work of Piaget, Maslow, Erikson, Smilansky, Vygotsky and Gardner. This curriculum has goals and objectives with an increased focus on the social and emotional skills children need to succeed in school and life. Creative Curriculum provides a wide range of strategies for child-initiated and Teacher-directed learning. In our room there are clearly defined interest centers where children learn through play. We have a large Block area, Sand and water tables, Art area, House and dramatic play area, Display of natural elements – rocks, shells, bark, in our Science area, variety of puzzles and other manipulatives in the Math area, and also reading and writing materials in the Writing center. All the shelving, tables, and chairs are wood and the walls are neutral. The color is provided by displaying books, posters and children’s own artwork and hung at eye level.
Our Mission is to provide a positive preschool and childcare experience preparing all children with school readiness in a loving Christian environment.
